New Drop’n’Go pods launched in Alice Springs
Envirobank expands access to recycling drop-off points in partnership with Alice Springs Town Council.
At Envirobank, we’re committed to making recycling more accessible for communities. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce the launch of two new Drop’n’Go pod locations in partnership with Alice Springs Town Council, giving local residents and businesses even greater access to the Northern Territory’s Container Deposit Scheme.
These new Drop’n’Go pods make it easier than ever for Alice Springs locals to recycle their eligible drink containers and cash in their 10¢ refunds—all while supporting the shift to a circular economy in the NT.
Where to find the new Drop’n’Go pods:
📍 Alice Springs Public Library carpark
📍 Hartley Street carpark
These pods expand Envirobank’s Alice Springs Cash for Containers network to three convenient drop-off locations, alongside our existing Alice Springs Depot on Santa Teresa Road. Designed with simplicity in mind, Drop’n’Go lets you skip the queues—just bag your containers, drop them off, and go!
Celebrating local art and culture
We’re honoured to feature stunning artwork by local Indigenous artists Sam and Gabrielle of Coolamon Creative on the new Drop’n’Go pods. Descended from the Dagoman people of Katherine and now based in Mparntwe (Alice Springs), the sisters bring their deep connection to Country and storytelling through their designs. The artwork reflects a vision of a healthy country, the vitality of the land, and the power of community working together for a sustainable future.
A message from our Founder
“At Envirobank, we’re committed to caring for Country and fostering a deeper connection with our environment.” says Narelle Anderson, Envirobank Founder and proud Jagera woman. “Recycling is about more than waste; it’s about respecting the resources we use and ensuring recyclable materials go back into the supply chain and not to landfill. These new Drop’n’Go pod locations are an opportunity for Alice Springs residents and businesses to take small, meaningful actions that collectively create a more sustainable future. Together, we’re building a legacy of care and responsibility for the next generation and beyond.”
Alice Springs Town Council Mayor Matt Paterson added their support for the initiative, saying:
“Alice Springs Town Council is excited to partner with Envirobank to introduce two Drop ‘n’ Go pods in Alice Springs. Everyone in our community wants to contribute to a sustainable future and it’s our role as a Council to make it as easy as possible for people to do that.
These innovative pods give residents an opportunity to help preserve the liveability of our community in a convenient way and get a little bit extra in their back pocket as well. A real win-win!”
