National Recycling Week

By Amy Wren

If Sir David Attenborough has taught us anything, it’s that one person can make a difference. What better time to start, than during National Recycling Week?

What’s it all about?

Established by Planet Ark in 1996, Recycling Week aims to bring a nationwide focus to the environmental and financial benefits of converting our rubbish into reusable material. The event, which is celebrating its 23rd anniversary this year, is about educating the public on how important recycling is, what items can be recycled and how you can minimise waste at home and in the workplace.

Each year this event encourages people to recycle more, truly commit to combating waste and reducing their carbon footprint. Why? Because now – more than ever – our environment needs all of the support it can get.

Not convinced? Set aside some time to watch Sir David Attenborough’s new documentary ‘A Life on our Planet‘, if you haven’t already done so. You’ll see that it’s now more important than ever to develop better recycling habits, educate yourself and others, inspire social change and start promoting the best sustainable recycling practices.

At Envirobank, we want to inspire you to recycle the rewarding way. So – reducing, reusing and recycling not only saves the planet but with Envirobank – it earns you money, too.

It’s a win-win for the planet and your pocket!

So why not use Recycling Week as an opportunity to talk to your friends, family and community about recycling. Ban together, collect your 10c eligible containers and deposit them at one of our Envirobank collection points.

Or better yet, sign up to Crunch and start gaining Crunch credits to redeem for incredible rewards with our partners Coles, Velocity, THE ICONIC and many more. What are you waiting for?
