Get rewarded with Good Citizens eyewear

By Luka Osborne

Sometimes it’s easy to be good, especially if it means wearing a sleek pair of sunnies.

Envirobank is pleased to announce a new partnership with Good Citizens Eyewear – the company rethinking sunglasses with a sustainable vision.

So what are they doing differently?

Well firstly, they’re sustainable. Each frame is produced from one recycled plastic bottle. Even the packaging – from the box to the bag is 100% recycled. Also, each Good Citizens eyewear design is modular, meaning parts can be swapped out if broken – if only more things were like that!

Envirobank has partnered with Good Citizens Eyewear, the sunglasses company with a sustainable vision.

The idea behind Good Citizens was born over a family dinner discussion about global plastic waste. By the end of the meeting, a few key points were agreed on as they scribbled down four guiding principles:

  • Only use 100% recycled materials
  • Make products that last
  • Don’t exploit people or the planet
  • Employees get time with their kids or loved ones.

These solid ground rules have guided Good Citizens ever since.

For example, exactly one post-consumer, recycled 600ml single-use plastic bottle makes one frame. Nothing else gets added. No metal, no virgin materials, just recycled PET. This is exactly the kind of circular-economy-magic that gets us excited here at Envirobank. Simply put, it’s a big reason why we do what we do.

Good Citizen’s modular design means every part clicks together, so you can mix things up to suit your perfect outfit. Every part of the frame can be replaced and fixed in seconds, which is also super handy if you’re prone to breaks. Each design is also based on a classic style with timelessness in mind, this ain’t your everyday fast fashion.

Also worth noting, Good Citizens’ Eyewear is locally produced in Sydney, but needless to say, they’ve been a hit around the world, claiming awards such as:

  • Marie Claire UK’s 2022 Best Sustainable Accessory Brand
  • Winner of the prestigious 2020 Good Design Awards Best in Class for Product Design Housewares and Objects
  • Winner of 2020 Good Design Awards Gold for Fashion Impact
  • Winner of The Design Files Sustainable Idea of 2020.

It’s our collective responsibility to recycle

The act of recycling is not only a personal duty but a shared obligation that belongs to us all. Good Citizens gets it and we get it too.

Every container that’s recycled is one less in a landfill. Not only are we reducing waste, we’re also conserving resources by decreasing the need to produce new materials, and eliminating the extraction of virgin materials.

We all have the power to make a difference. To recycle correctly is accountability and connection to the land we call home.

That’s why at Envirobank, we are committed to 100% Clean Recycling.
