NEW locations in Darwin!

Avatar By Amy Wren

Envirobank is proud to be expanding our network in collaboration with Coles in the Northern Territory as we continue to develop a meaningful community-oriented partnership. As part of Coles ‘Together to Zero’ strategy, we will be reaching new targets through our partnership, working towards creating a circular economy and providing our customers with more opportunities to join us in closing the loop.

It is all the more special to announce during NAIDOC Week, that we are propelling Coles Group’s ambition to be Australia’s most sustainable supermarket with the launch of a new Reverse Vending Machine at Coles Express Darwin City and new smart pods, located at Coles Bradshaw and Coles Northlakes bringing you the latest innovations in recycling technology. How good is that!

So, how does this high-tech RVM thing work?

It’s really easy! When you deposit a bottle or can, the RVM will scan the barcode on the container, determine its eligibility, crush and sort the container. You then scan your Crunch card via your smartphone and your refund is added to your Crunch account. The benefits allow our community (AKA you!) as well as fundraising groups and businesses, to drop off their eligible containers and reap the rewards, instantly.

What about our NEW Drop’n’Go smart pods?

All you need to do is collect your eligible bottles and cans and place them into an orange Envirobank bag, or your own durable bag. If you are using your own bags be sure to put a QR code sticker on the bag which you can get from our depot or print them out from the Crunch app and stick them onto your bags. Just make sure they are firmly attached so they don’t come off in transit.

Before you recycle at any of our locations, make sure you sign up for Crunch. Within Crunch there are some pretty cool features, you will be able to see your direct sustainability impact – how you have helped to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, conserve water, decrease energy consumption and how much waste has been saved from ending up in landfill. Not only that, you will be able to redeem your recycling for Coles gift vouchers, making recycling all that more rewarding for our people and our planet.
